*** "FINALLY!"... we hear you say. Well yes, after a number of seemingly false horizons, we are excited (and relieved) to announce that Style88's profile raiser is ready to roll. This has been a long awaited event and huge thanks to those of you who have hung in with us while we prepared the ground. We have carefully sought an established art space to lay on the most beneficial showcase for all involved and HinkyPunk will be Style88's flagship for the future. Please check out the PAINTWORKS site for venue details. In our collaboration with Migoi-Music, we have found another creative initiative with their artists at the forefront of their motivation. We can all bring something fresh and bold to the floor and this is certainly a positive collaboration with a bright eye looking forward. HinkyPunk will involve 15 Style88 artists from an eclectic range of practices. The curation is bound by the common incentives of the artists involved: to showcase their work amongst equally fresh and talented folk. We've got superb array of work for your awe and splendour. It's hot hot heat at the moment pulling everything together and we'll look forward to kicking back, with you all, to admire it. This flagship event is kindly supported by The Sofa Project, Bristol (please check out their organisation). Expect to see Photography, Painting, Installation and Illustration - all served, of course, with HinkyPunk Tea and Cake. Style88 is also pleased to highlight ROOM 13, Harecliffe - a primary school arts project - as a great feature to the show, confirming our commitment to local initiatives. Again, a great project so please look into the fantastic work that goes on there. Remember the dates for your diary: 21st Feb - Style88's Exhibition Launch. Open to all, this press view will be a great chance to meet all the artists involved and even bag yourself an original work from 88's up and coming. This will also be a good opportunity to chat to us if you're still on the fringes and keen on getting involved in the project and future events. Event features live music from Bitfunk and the Lairy Fairies. *Add wine to taste. 23rd feb - Migoi-Music's Site Launch. A night of live dj sets from Migoi's boys and girls. Get your toes tapping and throw those shapes - hailing the exciting times that lay ahead. Schmooze and booze; rock and pop! All in all a great feast of entertainment and festivity. Would be great to see all your friendly faces there and bring along your mum, aunt and gran. Everyone is welcome - we're happy and we want to shout about it!
